How to Avoid Media Overload

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

This is the second most popular distraction for most #financialadvisers and business owners that I've interviewed for the Achieving Balance book.

I want to share with you the 5 things that you can do today to turn this crazy media overload season into pure productivity:

🗞 Save News Updates for Personal Time

Save news alerts in an email folder and at certain times like lunch to digest.

🗞 Limit Social Media Sites while working

Unless you are using social media for work, block the sites so you don't get caught in the endless scrolling.

🗞Give yourself the freedom to indulge 1-2/day

In your personal time feel free to take off the work shoes put on your slippers and read/watch the news.

🗞Use Social Help

Use services like Buffer or Agorapulse to help you post to social media quality content not just endless scrolling and consuming.

🗞Remove distractions

Remove notifications on your computer and cellphone of every social media interaction!
